Lactobacillus plantarum UALp-05
The gut microecology of people who eat a conventional Western diet is generally deficient. Oligofructans, which are semi-resistant polysaccharides found in vegetables, are effectively metabolized by L. plantarum (1).
L. plantarum is a particularly hardy species that is resistant to gastric acid, bile, and proteases; it also has a good ability to assimilate cholesterol under varied intestinal circumstances. L. plantarum increases the expression of genes that regulate tight junction formation, enhancing intestinal barrier function (1).
It binds firmly to human colonocytes, competing with unwanted bacteria and supporting a healthy microbiome. It promotes a healthy immune response through a variety of processes, including the regulation of interleukins, natural killer (NK) cells, and cytokines (1).
Lactobacillus acidophilus DDS-1
