AClear Facial Wash Ingredient Research

Dead Sea Mineral Water Research

Dead Sea salt is excellent for cleansing the skin’s surface as it contains sulfur which possesses antibacterial properties.  As a result of its antimicrobial properties, sulphur has been shown to treat a variety of skin disorders, including acne. The mineral removes dead skin cells, which contribute to skin roughness, congested pores, and blemishes, to reveal a fresh layer of unblemished skin (1).

Dead Sea salt also has a unique ability to attract and retain water, thereby eliminating parched skin as it contains Magnesium and calcium. Scientists refer to these minerals as “natural moisturising elements” due to their function in maintaining the skin’s hydration balance (1).

A 2005 study found that bathing in a 5% Dead Sea salt solution improves skin hydration, reduces erythema and roughness, and strengthens the skin barrier.

Salicylic Acid Research

Salicylic acid is a common element in acne treatments. This is because it aids in the unclogging of pores and the removal of dead skin cells which assists in removing acne and preventing future development of acne (2). If you have acne-prone skin, utilizing a salicylic acid-containing product can help keep the skin clear.

Salicylic acid contains antibacterial capabilities in addition to anti-inflammatory characteristics (3). This means that it can aid in the killing of acne-causing germs.  It has been discovered that Salicylic Acid reduces skin lipids and has anti-inflammatory properties (3).

Salicylic acid can also aid in the reduction of sebum production by the skin. Sebum is an oily material that can lead to acne formation. Clogged pores are also a major cause of acne. Salicylic acid can help keep pores clear and prevent the risk of acne by lowering the quantity of sebum produced by the skin (4).

Allantoin Research

Allantoin has calming, hydrating, and healing properties (5).  Allantoin hydrates the epidermis to prevent irritation and dryness (6). Due to its non-irritating nature, it is also appropriate for sensitive skin.

On the epidermis, allantoin has a calming effect. It is utilized as a soother in skin care products.

Allantoin prevents transepidermal water loss (TEWL) (7) and can help skin cells retain water. It can restore your skin’s plumpness and softness.

Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice Research

Aloe Barbadensis, also known as Aloe Vera, is a succulent plant that is beneficial for all skin types, particularly dry, damaged, fractured, sensitive, and irritated skin. It provides skin with anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, antioxidant, humectant, soothing, and anti-itch properties (8).

Aloe vera contains 75 potentially active constituents: vitamins, enzymes, minerals, carbohydrates, lignin, saponins, salicylic acids and amino acids. Due to Aloe’s high water content (over 99% water), it is an excellent method to naturally hydrate, moisturize, and rejuvenate the skin (9).

• Polysaccharides – provide Aloe with its hydrating, emollient, and anti-inflammatory properties, while forming a protective barrier on the skin.

• Anthraquinones possesses antibacterial and antioxidant properties.

• Phytosterols – can alleviate and calm itchy skin while moisturizing and protecting it from transepidermal water loss.

• Glycosides – promotes cell regeneration and provides antihistaminic (anti-allergen) properties.

(10)

Stearic Acid Research

In skin care formulations, it acts as an emollient, emulsifier, cleanser, and texture-enhancing agent.  Protects the skin’s surface from moisture loss and reinforces the skin’s protective barrier (11).

Sodium Sracosinate Research

Sodium lauroyl sarcosinate has mild refatting properties that helps to bring softeness and moisture to the skin.  Sodium lauroyl sarcosinate is a surfactant, which means it is able to remove oils, dirt and grime from the skin (12).
